Addition to the entry way…or re-vamp??

I named this post addition to the entry way…but it really needs to be re-vamp of the entry.  Previous posts have described my love/hate relationship with the entryway…hello mis-aligned mirror?

I started with Giant Canvas….painting the middle a bright red.  Then I used black spray paint to get the edges and fade into the red…..isn’t it grand?

It’s super shiny at the moment of this pic….now that I have it inside, the shiny is not as pronounced.  I took the letters of the NH state motto off the wall and plotted out my placement with painters tape.

Yeah…I pretty much have no skills, but I got the letters on the canvas….so score one for me.

Let’s take a vote.  Is it cool or lame?  (Ignore the mis-aligned mirror)   🙂   Here is another shot:

I like it by itself, but need to get comfortable with it in the whole space.  I like the way it sits under the light fixture and if it is any further up, to align with the mirror, the light  gets in the way.  It really is Giant and I am not sure about how to adjust the mirror.  I am limited on the placement due to access to stud walls and the fact that Captain and First Officer of Destruction (the girls) like to slam the front door on every occasion.  Any ideas?  Feel free to throw out some ideas for the wall on the right as well 🙂

  1. I totally vote this as the best phrase of the blog. ” I am limited on the placement due to access to stud walls and the fact that Captain and First Officer of Destruction (the girls) like to slam the front door on every occasion.” Would like to incorporate pieces into daily teaching.
