Christmas in the Prairie Victorian

I would like to start out with a recap on what I have done with Christmas decor in the past.  At our old house I went between going all out and then toned down ….which was a nice change.

Start with the all out:

over done Christmas - the happy crazy houseIMG_3052

And just in case you couldn’t tell – that’s 7 trees in one room!

And here’s the toned down version:

Gives your eyes a little break but ensures that you know its Christmas.

Now that we are in the Prairie Victorian and most of my Christmas decor is still in Montana – I have had to improvise and really go low key by necessity this year.  Since I packed up all my work stuff and had it delivered to my office here – I have my office Christmas decor which I have taken home to use there, as this office has 6 (!) totes of Christmas decor already.  I find it hilarious that my office Christmas stuff made it here but not my home decor.  Seriously girl!?????

Outdoor lights (all that I had!!!!)

Lights flashing through the house with a glimpse at our tall and narrow tree.

Since I already have a tree in Montana, I purchased this one with the idea that it could be used in the stairwell going to the second floor or in our ‘library’. But for now…..it’s the main event.

How is your decorating going?  Are you going all in or toned down?
