Details in Jules’ Room

I began accumulating items for Jules’ room in December and I feel like I have come far enough to post about where we are today.

Here was where I started with the inspiration.

I am not sure why I had the pink in there nor why I was so on the fence about changing it to a teal.  I was set enough to start purchasing the teal as I was making that inspiration board!  Jeez girl.

**All of the pink went to Jane.  Jules only ended up with the pink as she found this blanket, that I had stored for Jane, and claimed it for herself……cuz it is crazy soft.  but not to worry – that teal blanket below is just as soft.

We kept all the art from her Montana room.

She is super jazzed that everything is up on the walls and that her fairy lights are up.  The room is very small but it is the only one with a closet and that’s what was most important to her.

Jules’ Room Part Deux

I updated Jules’ room before we left Montana and she was very sad to leave it behind.  See Jules’ Room in the Montana House Tour.  Now that we are getting settled into the Prairie Victorian I have been pulling together some images of what I would like to do for her room here.

Jules' Room Part Deux

The most striking item is the giant wall clock.  It remains to be seen as to whether Jules would actually say yes to it – but it a super cool feature in this proposal.  also that super cute furry bone bunny is just such an out of the ordinary piece…I had to add it in.  Our family loves Halloween, its just a slight nod.  I might also switch out the pink for a teal.
Jules liked the artwork in her previous room, so I will start with those and build from there.  This is what I had in her room before

Sometimes I think to myself – my poor family, they have to put up with constant changes in the house, me always asking if they are ok with how their rooms look…secretly crossing my fingers that there is something that they want to change.  And if they don’t want to change anything, me thinking up a reason to surprise them with something new.  Does that make me a lunatic?  Probably.  I am surprised Dave hasn’t lost it, especially when he comes home from a work trip and opens a drawer in the kitchen to find hand towels instead of our silverware or has to search for the plates for the umpteenth time in our marriage.

They must really love me.  🙂

Guest Bathroom – Finished

After long last the upstairs bathroom is done.  Yahoo!!

Recap:

Whew.

First photo of the bathroom for this blog.  ehh.

And here we go –

to start with – the tile!  sigh.  It matches the entry landing, the basement landing and the basement bathroom.  It is so awesome to walk through the house and feel that kind of consistency.

don’t worry – that side edge of the vanity below has since been cleaned up.

So bright- squinty.

The paint is up, the trim is in, the vanity is in (so gorgeous and shiny white).   I also decided to go with a vintage-y looking mirror to contrast the ultra sleek vanity.

I know I keep saying it – but seriously……2013!!!  That is when I started this thing. And now its done.  I am so excited to be able to cross this off my list.

Basement Bathroom Update

We have been slowly working on this bathroom in between Dave’s work trips.  A lot has gotten done, but we still have a bit to do.

This pic is right after the shower was installed.  months ago

Our next move was to build a niche for the toilet behind the shower.  Drywall – ARG.  No fun.  Dave was very dusty for a few days.

We are currently working on getting the cedar planks up on the ceiling.  Reminder:  We put the same planks on the ceiling in the Master bathroom.  and we are planning on the same ceiling in the Guest Bathroom upstairs…..say what???  continuity….I know, I am getting all crazy in here.

Since we are working an inch at a time, I have decided to distract myself with an art search.  I would like something to hang above the toilet.  What should it be?

I am all over the board with this (as always).  A few years ago I was given an Antler Toilet paper holder (you can barely see it in the double toilet picture up above), so I would at least like to make it somewhat make sense.

I also like almost everything made by GrittyCityGoods.  They are responsible for the piece in my Master Bathroom.

I have always wanted to try my hand at a graffiti style spray paint piece.

What should I do people?????
