I hope you had a great Thanksgiving with those that you love.
Jules and Jane wrote incredibly sweet notes for everyone. **sniff**
In house news, the stairs to the chicken coop are complete. At the end of the last post we still had a few things to finish up in order to call this done for the winter.
The final stair is in and the bush under the window has been moved.
A layer of concrete has been installed upon the upper tier. We have had snow since this picture and let me tell you…..what a relief to be able to make it to the chickens without worrying about slipping down the hill. clutz
I will be focusing on the basement for the next few months – bathroom and family room. I need to settle on furniture placement and art before I can say I am done with the family room.
Here are some inspiration shots:
I am all over the board with this. hahaha wish me luck. 🙂
Movement happening on some of our home projects. Yeah! I will be updating the House Tour tab with the pictures below.
Jules asked to make some changes in her room. When Jules and Jane split rooms, this is what it looked like:
Jules picked out the bedding and pillows herself, but a few years down the line, she was not happy spending time in her room.
Here is where we are right now. Still a work in progress, but Jules is much happier.
- Toy chest went from a bright red to a denim blue.
- Bedding changed from the red and white polka dot to a shabby chic floral.
- Art changed to reflect the new colors.
The one thing we are not sure about is her Art Cart. All of her art supplies are housed here – but it is very awkward. It does not really fit anywhere in the room. This will probably change in the future. hahahaha – silly me. everything changes in this house.
Both prints were instant downloads from Etsy
Our walkway from the driveway to the house has also been improved. Here is the before:
Winter is coming. hehe I did not want to have another winter where I needed to pick my way through the rocks to my front door, so Dave made it a priority. Goal – get it done before the first snow flies. We loaded up and headed to Home Depot to get our supplies.
We are still working on the finishing touches. If you look in the above photo the first stair needs to be completed and trimmed out. Outside of those small details – the Goal was met. Snow came this week:
Have a great weekend Peeps!
Another painting down. It’s been awhile since I had a painting to post but I had some in between that were slated for other people.
This painting brings me back to relaxing in the middle of the lake with mountains on all sides of us. There were no other people on the lake and no wind. So still. What a great time to look around and really enjoy your environment.
Big, open skies and this definitely fits the bill.
and those mountains.

So last weekend I went a little nuts with the spray paint…..and it kind of bled over to this weekend. Seriously, take the spray can out of my hand.
But First!!! A completed project that I started:
Here is where I left off……
This used to be a mirror and I decided to change it. of course I decided to change it……
I spray painted the backing wood a nice chrome and then went about my business with the gold leaf. Say What? Yup – gold leaf.
That milky white stuff in the picture above is the adhesive……let it set and then start applying your gold leaf.
I got myself all gilded up….on accident. apparently there are people out there who rock at this and don’t make a serious mess……but I am NOT one of them.
I layered in white, grey, various shades of blue and kept working it until I was happy with the result.
I like how it turned out……and I put it up in the bedroom. Turns out I must have unconsciously used that mirror…..as I have been glancing at it non-stop and being surprised that it wasn’t my reflection.
Remember when I said I couldn’t stop spray painting stuff?
Here’s a clue…….
OMG make it stop (Dave says silently)
